When we brought home these following our experience with Crab catching, I needed a easy recipe for Lunch. So I rang amma and asked her for one such recipe. This is her version of cooking Crab. This is not a very spicy recipe. You could always up or down the spices used to suit the spice levels.I wasn’t able to capture great pictures as I was running out of time

Serves : 3
Crabs : 3-4
Onions : 2 medium, sliced thinly
Tomato : 1 medium, chopped
Ginger garlic paste : 1 tsp
Chilli powder : 3/4 tsp
Turmeric : 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder: 1 tsp
Curry leaves : few
Oil : 2 tsp
To Dry Roast and Grind :
Pepper : 1 tsp
Cumin : 1/2 tsp
Fennel/Saunf/Sombu : 3/4 tsp
Heat up Oil and add the sliced onions. Saute till they turn soft and translucent.
Add the ginger garlic paste.Saute till the raw smell disappears.
Now add the powders and the tomato and saute till the tomatoes turn mushy.
Add the Crabs and cover with lid. Let it cook in its own juices.
After about 15 minutes, open the lid to check consistency. If cooked , add the roasted and crushed pepper, cumin and fennel powder. Remove.
