Meen Puttu / Fish scramble with coconut and Eggs

This is a simple quick recipe and can come in handy when you are running out of ideas or running short on time. All you need is a tinned fish can like I have used  (or some fleshy white fish) the other ingredients are usually found in the pantry and put together

Recipe 

Serves : 4

Fish : Tuna (canned ) 1 about 100 gms (Refer notes for whole white fish fillets)

Eggs : 2

Onion : 2 medium, finely chopped

Oil : 1 tbsp

Mustard : 1/2 tsp

Turmeric powder : 1/2 tsp

Ginger: 1 tsp finely chopped

Garlic  : 1 tsp , finely chopped

Green Chillies : 2, finely chopped

Pepper, cumin : 1/ 2 tsp each, roasted and powdered.

Curry leaves : 2 sprigs, chopped

Coconut : 3-4 tbsp freshly grated

 

Method:

Heat the oil to the pan, add the mustard, allow it to splutter.

Add the ginger, garlic, green chillies, curry leaves and onions. Fry till the onions turn soft

Add the can of Tuna along with turmeric. Saute for about 2-3 minutes

Now make a well in the centre add a tsp oil if needed, and add the eggs

Now let it sit for about 2 minutes and slowly scramble add salt.

Now add the coconut and saute for about 2 minutes till the mixture is done

 

Notes :

Add the fish pieces (about 200 gms ) with little turmeric, salt and 1/4 tsp chilli powder

Cover and cook with 2 tbsp water. Shred and follow the recipe
